Summer is here, the sun is shining and life in Philly is starting to get back to normal—you know what that means? It’s time to get out and about! Summer in the city offers tremendous opportunities for outdoor adventure—from hiking and biking to brewery tours and street festivals. No matter what your interests, take some time this summer to appreciate all that Philly has to offer when the weather turns warm.

One of the standouts near your 1213 Walnut apartment is Bok Bar, a rooftop bar, restaurant and lounge that offers some of the most unparalleled views of the city. While a visit to the space is the perfect opportunity to ease back into socializing, there’s also another reason for a trip: outdoor yoga!

On the second and fourth Tuesday evening from May through October, South Philly fitness center KG Strong is hosting yoga classes on Bok’s rooftop. Bring a mat, a bottle of water and a towel and get ready to sweat! The classes are led by some of Philly’s top yogis, although you don’t need any experience to participate—just an interest in the practice of yoga and a drive to hone your skills amid one of the city’s most stunning backgrounds.

Class size will be significantly limited because of COVID, so make your reservations early. Participants will be spaced out during class and are asked to wear masks while walking through the Bok building. Classes are held rain or shine but, in the event of inclement weather, will shift to Zoom. All classes are $18, with a portion of proceeds benefiting local nonprofits.

And best yet, it’s a quick trip from your 1213 Walnut apartment—just a 10-minute drive or a quick ride on the Broad Street Subway.
