Our Midtown Village neighborhood is renowned for its exceptional eateries, but how much do you know about their wine lists?
At 1213 Walnut, we believe there’s something just inherently relaxing about a nice glass of wine—in a luxury apartment or out on the town in Philadelphia—and that’s why we’re sharing our favorite neighborhood spots with you. Cheers!
Jamonera

A Spanish tapas and wine bar—it’s hard to get much better than that! With a wide selection of red, white and sparkling wines offered both by the glass and the bottle, there’s something to fit every taste. The real superstars of Jamonera’s wine menu, though, are the sangrias roja and blanca that hit the spot no matter what time of year it is.
Tredici Enoteca

It’s hard not to feel on top of the world when dining at Tredici. The restaurant’s clean and sleek design makes it a perfect spot to sip and catch up with a friend or a date. As for a recommendation of the restaurant’s must-taste wine? “The Picpoul de Pinet is an interesting white wine, with notes of minerality and citrus,” a Tredici expert told us. “The notes in this white wine set it apart from your traditional Pinot Grigio.”
Vintage Wine Bar

This neighborhood hot spot has “wine” in its name—how could it not be on our list? If you’re looking to explore wines varying by region or style, you’re in luck: With more than 60 wines offered by the the glass, Vintage also offers rotating wine flights with three different 3oz pours or “side by sides” (2oz pours) for quick comparing and contrasting. Stop by to check out our the rotating chalkboard of featured wines!
Time

In addition to the mellow atmosphere downstairs at Time, there’s nothing better than sitting back with a glass of wine and catching one of the many live jazz bands that entertain visitors. According to the folks at Time, “You definitely have to try Wilson vineyards, which is making amazing wine in Nottingham, PA.” Time offers a Wilson merlot by the bottle. It’s hard to resist a wine that’s both local and delicious!
Zavino

Zavino’s 13th Street restaurant managers David Hamm and Sara Karam say you can’t go wrong with the Trifula Barbera Blend, which, for you wine aficionados, is 80 percent Barbera and 20 percent Nebbiolo. “It’s a great Italian red that has been on our menu forever. It has nice cherry notes with some leather aromas on the nose. A great wine for new world and old world wine drinkers to try.”
Now if you’ll excuse us, we have some wining and dining reservations to make. The possibilities for eclectic dining options in Midtown Village are endless, and 1213 Walnut residents are lucky enough to have constant access to them. Book a tour today to see even more perks of living in Philadelphia’s most vibrant neighborhood.
