International Chicken Wing Day is this July 1, 2022, and to celebrate, we’re sharing our favorite wing spots in Philadelphia. 

Cheu Fishtown

Located at the combination restaurant Nunu and Cheu Fishtown, the wings here are well worth experiencing, especially the Black Garlic Wings. According to Eater, these wings are “made tangy with a sauce consisting of a fermented bulb of garlic that’s pureed with soy sauce and cooked in brown sugar, and served with sesame, lime, and scallions or cilantro.”

Byrne’s Tavern

For the chicken wing connoisseur, Byrne’s Tavern, located in Port Richmond, is home of the pressure cooked and famously tender wing since 1978. Byrne’s wings are so popular that on Super Bowl Sundays, the team actually begins cooking before daylight, preparing to sell thousands upon thousands of the best wings in the city.

Chix & Wings

Located at 138 S 11th Street in Philadelphia, Chix and Wings is a local favorite. Serving every kind of wing from the friend chicken wing to the Korean fried chicken wing and more. For those on the wing crawl looking for something else, we highly recommend their fried chicken sandwiches and platters, too!
